80 Series lift + tyres under 2100mm

Post by DNA Off Road »

Hey guys,

I want to put a lift and bigger tyres under the 80 but I am limited to 2100 [garage door]. Any ideas what tyre and lift combo will give me height wise? The closer to 2100 without going over the better. Thanks for your time!

Cheers

I run 33s and a 2-3 inch lift in my 80 series and i dont go under any thing less than 2.1 because i did not measure the hieght at the car park so i can not trust the measurement. i have also hit at 2.1 metre. The car measures just under 2 metres

4 inch springs and 33s were 2050mm
3 inch springs and 35s would be very close, maybe slightly less.
3 inch and 35s is the best combo in my opinion.

Most springs can sit .5 to 1 inch higher when they are new. they will take a few kays to settle in and shrink. so keep that in mind.

I have 4" lift an 35s, I think my springs have sagged a bit, but mine sits at around 2050mm

My UHF ariel on the bull bar is at 2100mm to the tip, If it touches going in to carparks, I wont go further. You cant always trust what the clearance signs say
Roof racks add about another 120mm, so you would get almost no lift with racks and be under 2100mm.

very little scrubbing, occasionally when really crossed up, not enough to be a problem at all.

I have 315/57R16s on 8" rims. Previously had 33"s on 10 rims, the extra offset meant my 33"s scrubbed worse than the 35"s do

Ok thanks - do you know how wide the GXL rims are off hand?

5 inch lift, 35s, no body lift, no roof bars and I got 2075mm which is on par to most people. with 25mm clearance it makes 2100mm car parks scary and I hope they get their heights right.

Wife has dent in rear of her roof (Disco) from an air vent at the rear of a part though), woops
