clutch and steering questions

Post by albatross »

hi all,

replacing engine as the old one blew up, just sticking with the standard g13ba at this time. however also planning on replacing the clutch whilst i'm at it. Clutch plate was replaced around 160k ago, but that's about it, so the current clutch has about 300k on it. what do i need ? looking around a flywheel machine seems to be recommended ? and do i need to replace the lot, eg this;

or just the plate, eg;

?

also concerning the steering; i have about 4 inches of play in the steering wheel, strange as the steering box was replaced about 20k ago. is this normal ? can i fix it ? am i up for a new steering box ?

thanks!

chris

edit: sorry this is a 95' sierra stock everything

replace the clutch plate, pressure plate and both thrust and spigot bearings. also get the flywheel machined.
you can try and adjust the steering box. but sierra's always seem to have a bit of play there.
