Running different muddies front and rear ?
due to the fact that one of my Pirelli scorpion muds was stolen by someone and nobody seems to be able to help me find it or supply me with a new one, i need to know if there are many issues i will run into running different muddies front and rear.
Apparently pirelli has not sold these tyres to any dealers since july 2008 so i don't know how i bought these brand new month ago...
anyways the tyres are 30*9.5 r15's and they will be going on a swb suzuki vitara.

I saw your "pinched" thread, man. Bad luck. you would think so but sounds like the place i got them from got them from somewhere strange, pirelli Australia has not sold them to any suppliers since the 31st of july 2008, bob jane who are the biggest pirelli distributors and there are none in the country according to them...chimpboy wrote:I saw your "pinched" thread, man. it's a pain, i was thinking of getting two bighorns as they are very similar looking, aswell as being a pain it just won't look right but anyways see how i go i guess :( cars being painted this week so i need to work out a tyre soon..
also i once had a shop take two tyres of my rims as requested as they de beaded in the mud so were full of water, but the fella decided to take one of that wasnt one i requested instead of one i did, and that just happened to be the one that had a tear on the side wall and they wouldnt put it back on the rim for legal issues, so i was up that creak without a paddle cause i didnt have a 33inch spare, so i had to buy two 31s, and put them on the rear with 33s on the front, if you ever have to mix and match make sure they are on the same end, other wise it can wind your diff up and cause problems, however i dont know what you would do with a full time 4wd.....

They should of put it back on and got you to sign a waiver saying they were not responsible and actually advised you not to run that tyre. After all it was their stuff up in the first place. when i was running 215/75r15's on my zuk the rears of course ran out of tread before the fronts (too many skiddies! =) - i just changed the rears for a different set of 2nd handers, ended up with some goodyear tyres of some sort - they measured slightly larger than the fronts. Not an issue on road as the front hubs werent locked in so the difference in rolling speed wasnt noticeable... offroad i reckon it actually went better! the fronts rotated slightly faster than the rears and seemed to "bite in" more - windup wasnt an issue as the surface was loose enough to let the wheels spin to compensate.
i ran it like that for over 6months and had no issues before taking it off the road for the SPOA conversion.
