How about Rocky not Townsville.

Just one question. Does your vehicle comply with the rules or if it does not does it at least have a roll cage and winch fitted?

For your information the event will be held it the SE Corner or Northern NSW.

If you are concerned about travelling with your non production vehicle go and have a go at the SSS (if you do not want to compete at an XWC)which is held at Cruiser Park 3 times a year. Problem solved.

Yet again (I have lost count of how many times it has been said here) if it did not come with it you cannot compete with it, quite simple really!

For this event I am only interested in PRODUCTION vehicles.

So if you do not comply, I am sorry, some event will have you.

As I stated from the start, it is a low cost (vehicle prep) event and not necessarily a entry level event. Past competitors are more then welcome to come and compete under a very fair set of rules that will keep all entrants on a level playing field, as long as they have production vehicles and comply with the said rules & guidelines.

So please, if you do not comply look at another event (said for the last time).

The rules I have released are for a "PRODUCTION EVENT".

They have been released for the "Xtreme Production Event" and if people are interested there will be an event happening for those that have a vehicle or have built a vehicle to comply with those rules in March 2010.

Cheers

My truck is a weekend/club car with a cage but the only thing stopping me for this class now is that we are fitting an early commodore standard efi V8 motor which is the same age as the car and will be approved by Qld transport, therefore legal on the road but still not eligible to compete with these guys.

Maybe have Production event with stanard class and modified class that still meet transport regs???

HOW MANY CLASSES DO YOU WANT!!!!!

What part of Production do you not understand!

Production Event is for production vehicles, not one's with 35"tyres, V8/V6 replacement motors, 6"lift, twin motor winches or what ever.

There is no point trying to build another class/event to suit everyone's truck that is modified when there is already one there that will cater for these vehicles namely XWC!!

Cheers
David
You keep going back to XWC. Where not intersted in the pro challege.. Are you even listening to the post... A few rule changes and this race could have been run and won.. But it your race.. It has given a few Ideas though on future comps

If you are not interested in XWC that caters for the modified vehicle, I would then suggest the SSS which is held at Cruiser Park 3 times a year.

Yes I am listening to this post. But it appears that you are not.

I made the post which resulted in a set of rules being posted for a "PRODUCTION CLASS EVENT" not a modified event.

But it appears that some do not like to play by the rules and want rules to suit their own vehicle regardless.

So if you want to follow the rules as posted it will be great to see you at the Production Event in March otherwise I will come and watch you at the SSS.

Just to clear up a few things.

The idea with the Production Class is what it says.

The idea with tyre size is so it is legal to drive on the road to the event and back home again.

ROLL CAGES are legal in Queensland by their current rules.

I do not think that 35" tyres are holding it back. If it is, I will gladly accept 35" wheels.

Cheers
David
Hi dave,
Im glad to see you have relaxed your tyre rule, BY "gladly accepting 35" wheels". as you mentioned above. Now they have no excuse! as you have just saved most people around $1500... that they can put towards cages or a winch ect, but they must understand that major MMM penalities will be added to the tyre size...
as for the cages , hasnt there just been a new rule added by DMT.
not exactly sure, somthing along the line of, if it was there & complied before Sept 30 its ok. but after sept 30 cage areas have changed,
Im not 100% sure, but there has been a lot of chat about it in the general forum.

As I am aware there have been no changes to the cage rules "At the Moment".

Do not be to quick about the 35" tyres, it would be best that you read the post about the 35" tyres. Here it is again.

I do not think that 35" tyres are holding it back. If it is, I will gladly accept 35" wheels.

And if that were also the case I would be knocking back entries for XWC for the Xtreme Class which has a tyre limit of 35".

Problem solved, I should now see 20 entries in the mail on my arrival home in a weeks time.

If this does not happen, we will go back to "Road Legal" tyres and go by the rules as written.

So that means if paid entries are not in my letter box on arriving home from Round 3 we are back to what was first written in the rules 33" tyres.

Cheers

Hey Pig, instead of having a crack at Metcalfe, why don't you find 10 vehicles that want to have a play?
metcalfe wrote:It will only be run with 10 paid entries.
Rules are simple for this event. Every time people come up with a complaint about stuff ( PTO, 35's etc) Dave has stated that if you get him the extra numbers to make up the 10 (not just talkers) he will revise it and possibly run with it anyway.
How many people have put their hand and dollars up since he said that?
The only thing holding this up is competitor numbers and the fact people aren't showing a commitment and handing over the entry fee. Why would he lock in a date (like he has in the past) only to cancel it once it gets closer due to no competitor interest?

Get the numbers together and you'll be racing.

METCALF IS TOO STUBERN TO BEND!!!!!!
WE HAVE BUILD OUR TRUCK TO HIS RULES FOR "PRODUCTION CLASS"
ITS READY, IT COMPLIES WITH EVERY ONE OF HIS RULES.......
to do this we had to:-
# sell my feroza (extreme class)
# remove GU running gear, then install GQ.
# build cage
# remove 5" suspension, then install 3".
# change fule tank to factory pos,but up.
# get rid of 37" & 35" tyres & get 33"
ect ect ect

& WHAT'S THAT CRAP ABOUT THE XWC (extreme class) having a tyre limit of 35"tyres

DAVE, DONT YOU KNOW THAT THERE ARE QUITE A FEW 37" TYRES ALREADY COMPETING IN THAT CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS COMP SEEMED TO BE A GOOD IDEA AT THE TIME...

Maybee we were to quick to tell all our sponcers about this NEW event,
saved our $$$ by not building a rig for a non existant comp & kept the feroza to compete in extreme class.

NOW WITH OUT MORE $$ MODIFICATIONS THE RIG WOULD NOT BE COMPETATIVE IN XWC CLASS basicly BEEN SCEWED AGAIN....
piglet,
there are usually only 2 cars competing in the Xtreme class .. and i think that 1 car competes ( or was competing ) on 33's and one on 35's.

Are you thinking of the Open Xtreme class on 37's?

McClenahan, yes you are now giving me the sh.ts. You have got no idea of what it takes to run an event and an creditability that I imanged you had has gone right out the door.

From what I beleive you were already selling your Feroza (that was only seen a few times over past XWC events.

I have never made anyone do anything.

Yes that is great that you have built your vehicle to a set of rules, that others find it so hard to follow.

Maybe you should take all your sh.t out on them for not wanting to follow a fair set of rules.

As I have stated all along if you want to run under rules to suit what you have built, get of your ar.e McClenahan and run an event, don't sit back here creating sh.t, and making statements that are no where near what happens or the truth for that mater.

McClenahan as far as I am concerned you are not helping with the sport at all, make sure you have a return address on your entry so I can send it right back to you. Then tell the sponsors why I refused your entry.

I always was under the impression that you were to act above board when sponsors are concerned. If I were a sponsor of your vehicle it would be withdrawn very quickly due to your actions.

True. Look at it from the other perpective though. For guys that have already got a lift and 33's, it's only a matter of putting a winch on the front and an internal cage. A few grand.
Not only will they be able to compete in the Production Class Winch Comp, they will also be able to do events up at Cruiser Park such as Rally Cross, Mud Pursuit, Cooper Stadium, Tough Tracks, Superior All Terrain and be confident in the fact if things do go pear shaped, their melons are protected by the safety cage around them.

If it's only tyre size holding someone up from entering, come and see me .Mention the Production Class when you talk to me. I will work a deal on some 33's and accept trades of any description (even Mums if they can make good coffee). We'll get the price right.

A FORMAL APPOLAGY
TO DAVE METCALF & ALL OFF ROAD ENTHUSIASTS.

Im sorry for the previous comments that has affended DAVE METCALF,
Latley I have had the misfortune of extremely serious illness have affected the lives of myself & my family, I no this is no excuse for the words I have said , But I think I unfortunatle vented all my anger on DAVE METCALF.
In all truthfullness at the presant time an event would be the worst thing I could do to add even more stress to an already breaking point situation.
I have competed in events for some time now, & most of them were DAVE METCALFS, to the point that Tony Ryan & myself gave Dave the
MEAN MISTER METCALF T nickname thus the begining of MMM.
As you all can see by the ABOVE QUOTE I have tried every way possible to try & support DAVE & his event, we even offered him the use of our production class ute to display at the previous 4x4 show & any other place he wanted to advertise his event, that it could be shown to people that it isnt that expensive to get into.I have even offered to do rekies for him to help find the write location.
I do want to see this event go on. HEVEN FORBID but it is inevetable that not too far in the future that the DMT may start cracking down on events just like they are starting to do with vechicles on the roads, each day we hear of somone else that has been pulled over or off the road for an excessivly modded rig. SO THATS WHY DAVE METCALF HAS SET THESE RULES, & HE KNOWS THEM ALL TOO WELL. THE RULES DAVE HAS SET ARE BASED AROUND EVERYTHING THAT WAS LEAGLY REQUIRED OF HIM TO GET HIS UTE TO COMPLY WITH THE DMT RULES.
THUS THE BIRTH OF PRODUCTION CLASS..

I DO TRULEY APPOLAGISE TO DAVE METCALF FOR THE COMMENTS i HAVE MADE ON OUTERLIMITS & TOTALY WITHDRAW THEM FROM THIS FOURM. I ALSO HOPE THAT ONEDAY WHEN THE STRESS IN MY LIFE EASES A LITTLE & DAVE HAS HAD A CHANSE TO COOL OFF THAT WE CAN SHAKE HANDS SO I CAN APPOLAGISE TO HIS FACE.

a true appolagy from the heart.

WELL DONE GUYS..

the best thing about the 4wd community is they are very understanding. I havent met any of you guys but it is good to see you guys throw some ideas around, get heated, argue and then sort it out. Sweet as no probs.

I will definately be coming to this event when it kicks off eventually. (spectator).

Piglet, I hope things improve for you and your fam in the health dept. I know how certain things can lean on you.
Will be looking forward to meeting you guys for a brew at round 1.
