Dude you have got to put that they released the rangie in 1971 with those features in your sig line !

Ummm, the Range Rover was released at the Amsterdam Motor Show in 1970.

Portals seem to be the flavour of the month in the States, is anyone playing with them here in OZ?

There's a couple of people. Mogrover, a 110landie (in melb some where) and what ever NAM is building this week will have portal axle of some sort (think there the volvo one's).

Landy Man, Also add "cigarette lighter" standard. My buddies' 1970 RR has one STANDARD.

like turps said, sam (AKA strangerover) has em under his mogrover, and going by a post in another thread, may very well be getting rear steer soon :)

That is a very similar design to what Pete Antunac had at TTC 02 :roll: . I believe he has since removed it!

In other words it isn't as flash as what it looks!

wouldn't it be cheaper to replace the IFS with a solid axle?

mick - you missed the point

look at the portal like clearance under the diff.....

Thats almost a portaled portal .. I would have thought that he woud attatch the lower parts a bit higher to take full advantage of the drop hub... Still should be reasonably strong and not all that heavy ..
