FJ40 dash and LPG from 60 to 40

Post by Midnight Middy »

My fj40 has a very badly rusted dash and i am wondering where i can buy a replacement one. Around how much i am looking at? Or should i just get new custom gauges?

Also is the rear lpg tank that sits under the fj60 above the rear axle the same size the as fj40 one that sits in the same place?

Thank you

By dash, do you mean just the instrument cluster or the entire dash that the instrument cluster fits into. If instrument cluster, you'll probably have to go wreckers or do a custom panel with aftermarket gauges. Do a google search for fj40 gauges and you'll see lots of ideas.

As for the lpg tank, you'd have to measure the width of the 60 tank as the 40 chassis rails are fairly narrow. Pretty sure the widest one that will fit is 62 useable litres under a 40. They would have fitted the biggest one possible in the 60 so it's probably too big.

the 60 tank wont fit in the 40 unless its a tiny tank not intended origionally for the 60
