It depends I think. The Silverstones have a slightly more open pattern than the Simex's and seem to be marginally better in mud, but the Simexs are much closer to the stated tyre size on the side at least in 35's
I run the Silverstones and havent been stuck on them yet.
I also think the Simex are regarded to be better on the road, but thats not much of a compliment really......

Whilst i have never used the Simex's or the tyre you mentioned in particular, i can strongly vouch for the Mt-117's in the Sport, put simply they are an awesome tyre in mud on rock on the road (even though you can hear them) & give you confidence in the wet.
If the Silverstones you have mentioned are the same or similar compound i would go for them.

i've not run the silverstones but im running 31" simex ET's on my zuk (measure 32") - they've been great thus far and its my DD. i find i have more on road grip than i did on my cooper stt's!
I contemplated the silverstones - but figured "why buy the ripoff brand?" - especially when Ryano at fourbies gave such good pricing on the pedes!

The Silverstone extremes are basically awesome off road, they just grab shit and keep on giving traction.
Simex crap all over them on road, which again isn't much of a compliment for an extreme tire.
My only concern would be life cycle on the Silverstones, which I haven't seen anyone have them long enough to indicate yet.

I've got 35x11.5 R15 simexes and they're absolutely awesome in mud and on rocks. Seen the 117 extremes in mud and they went good too. Extreme trekker 2's handle better than jungle trekker 2's on road but are still pretty shithouse. You wouldn't want to drive on them too much. If 117's are worse they must be outright dangerous on road.
They all sound like a B-52 bomber on final approach to Hiroshima.
It's noisy in the cab, vehicle shakes around and drifts, braking is done very tentatively and well in advance. Mate, it's the closest i'll ever come to flying or riding in a Hercules i reckon.
Whichever one you choose i'm sure you won't be disappointed.

I've used both 35x10.5/16 Silverstones and 35x11.5/15 Simex on the same truck in comps. GQ TD42t Trayback etc etc.
Simex is a better all round tyre.
35x10.5 Simex and Silverstone are the same size. (we measured) 11.5 Simex is a lot bigger.
In wet clay, NOTHING compares with the Silverstone but when it gets soft they dig really really fast.
On wet roads the Silverstone is just dangerous!

93 Nissan Pathfinder / Terrano Turboed VH45, GQ Trans and T-case, coil overs, hydraulic winch and fair bit of other stuff. (Currently a pile of parts in the workshop)

It depends on the vehicle too, the silverstones are good on light weight zooks because they bag easier and are a softer compound but on larger rigs they wear quickly and tear chunks quite easily.

They are a great tyre in mud, loose dirt, small rocks etc. They do suck a bit on big rocks as they don't bag at all. I have had 6psi in them and the sidewalls don't bag out one bit. On bitumen they are absolutely Farkin scary!!!!!!! On wet bitumen you are as nervous as a paedophile at a wiggles concert!!!!
I haven't driven on 117's or ET's. I may have to make them my next tyre choice as everyone reckons they're awesome in the mud.
