I had planned to paint after the rims were done so that I could see what had to be done to clear the tyres, the rims were suposed to take a week which turned into 3 so with Adventure Tour so close I painted when I had the chance. Besides, its much more fun cutting into pristine panels.

No we fixed that problem on Big Steve's car - we removed the front and rear driveshafts Now he can rev all he wants and not break any axels

Good thinking gerg I knew you and Big stsve would come up with a novel solution .. I have taken the approach if .. if i dont fix the broken stuff (bearings etc) and the Zuk just sits out in the street .. it will never break again ...

This was the plan however I have been off work (Yesterday, today and probably tomorrow) sick, I've re-scheduled with Truch for Thursday.
FYI I can drive the car on road now but have to cut the front guards and relocate the top rear shock mounts before I can take it offroad. Hopefully that will be Sunday so I have a week of testing before Adventure Tour

Sounds like ample testing time mate... that'll be more than half the people on the trip
Perhaps you should just put some blocks under the front bump stops to make sure you don't rub the tyre on the guard too hard when driving into driveways or over flower beds and other stuff like that which happens in everyday style driving.

How does it go with no steering stablizer?
I'd say it drives a lot better than yours as there is no wobble, its OK, I dont think I'll worry to much about fitting it.
The first thing I noticed when I drove it with no doors or targa bar man the tyres are quiet, that could be coz they had 35psi in em but they were very quiet.

How fast were you going? It may also be due to the wind blowing past your ears since you had no doors on?
If it's too quiet for you mate - just get a bigger exhaust going

Q: What spings did you use, I was looking in the OME cataloge and noticed two different spring rates one medium and the other was different but from what I was told they were heavier and thats what they recomended.
The medium rate was cheaper and I guess are softer

I went for the HD springs as they have a full length second spring (Hopefully wont bend as easily)
They are the more expensive of the 2, I think it was $900 for the set of 4 rears

Big heavy rubber one end and allot of torque the other ... =S shaped springs
The only real cure is torque arms of some description, should help with traction as well as wheel hop should be reduced ..

Mine are the heavy duty ones bought this time last year. mind you they are stuffed now - gotta love inverting a shackle with the front diff lock on, 6:1 gears and full throttle

First time I've inverted the shackles also first and only time I've driven that way with that set up. I have added anti inversion brackets since then
