Been looking for an old 40 for a toy and ive found one, Its cheap, in ok condition but the only problem is that its been sprungover.
Its got no engineering or rego.
Now I dont really want another lifted 4wd, too much work to get blueslip, so i was thinking of removing the springover. Whats involved in this?
Will look at the car this week so will have more info then.
Thanks, Dan

Removing springover in 40? whats involved?

it all depends on how the spring over has been done.
often the knuckles are cut off the axle tubes, rotated, and rewelded. shock mounts may have been moved, and steering is probably hi-steer or similar.
it's much easier to just get another housing for each end and steering arms from someone, and throw the diffs/axles/swivel hubs etc onto the standard housing.
