I bought an fj40 and it has got a fair bit of rust in it. The guy used it on the beach a fair bit.
I know that there is a fair bit of rust and im wondering if is better to repair it or sell it and by one without rust. How much would it cost to have it repaired? Would it be easy to do by myself?
Also the wiring is pretty ****ty to. The guy swapped the dash and carby with a good fj40 that he ended up selling for like 5000.
CheersR
doesnt look to far gone,if you have your heart set on building a 40 why not use what u have already,if chassis and running gear is good u can always re shell it,or do serious body work

While I don't mean offence, I think your ad is not really being that up front about the rust issue. "Has some rust" is probably understating it don't you think? Perhaps you could have included photos as above (particularly the floor pan and speedo) to give a buyer a better idea?
Anyway, good luck with the sale, already seems to be making a profit for you.
Yer well i dont think the rust is really too bad, its just i dont really have the tools to remove it and the space since i am moving to surfers paradise in 2 weeks time.
