Is spray/paint on sound deadner really worth the hassle?

Finally got the new project rego'd. Ill be pulling door trims off,etc,etc to fit speakers,etc and am looking at a bit of sound deadning.

DO you think the spray/brush on stuff is worth it? dont wanna spend a fortune but a little bit more quiteness would be good.

my mate just did his cruiser doors and it sounds like he has a little sub in his ute, no rattle at all, just clear sound.

but he used a sheet of this sound deadener. didnt use any spray from what i recall

Spray, no. Brush on bitumen works a treat for the cost, but will stink for a few weeks.

I used 65 litres of the brush on stuff in my daily driver. It works a treat.
Brand I used was "Sound-Off", one of the only non tar based ones that I have seen.

Dynamat extreme sheets is the only other product I would consider if sound deadening is your goal.

I used the spray on stuff for under my wheel arches and underneath the rear of the wagon section. It made it a fair bit quieter, but I still plan on using the dynamat stuff(when i can afford it) to lay on the inside of the car.

use WURTH spray on sealer ( its rubbery). the gun is a few $$$ but once you have used this stuff you will never use anything else.

its used on the underbody of european cars and protects them from all sorts of shit like salt.

the spray on stuff works well, it just takes a few coats to get that cover you want.

Brush on stuff works well, and tends to go further. I've got it under my front and rear archs, and it does a great job. I placed a very thick coat on, and it cut the noise of the claws down by a 1/4.
