He's done more for the awareness of the sport than most others!...He may not be your cup of tea, but no need for the names.

I feel rick presented the DVD awesome.
abit of talking but not too much. the occasional interview and piss take.
but not over the top like in past years.

Martin Bryant gave gun control and Port Arthur a great deal of coverage also. ;)

Everyone I have ever spoken not in the 4wd community that have seen the Tuff Truck DVDs he helped produce or his show, comment on the hoon factor, redneck mentality and downright pathetic hosting abilities of the bloke. IMO yes he has helped get the 4wd community on the idiot box, but he has done just as much harm while doing so.

IMO last years DVD was the best one yet and I agree Rick did a fantatsic job of presenting it. Probably has more to do with the fact that Rick is more concerned in promoting the sport than himself also ;)

STARKEY wrote:please do away with the stooges that talk all day, and maybe just some info from time to time so people can hear the trucks and enjoy the spectacle, rather then the intrusive cometary of blokes who think people have come to hear them

This is a good point and a view shared by many at my camp, and my club. A good point I hear time and time again is the point of marketing. The commentary and the music played throughout the DVD caters to a very small minority of people involved in this sport.

The general point to this thread is to discuss the changes being made to this event. However, I do personally agree with changes and restrictions being made to alcohol consumption and un-sociable behavior. These changes will hopefully encourage a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and maybe elimenate some of these "stooges".

We've been down the commentary road before, the commentary team is staying. Instead of telling them they're "stooges" (which is a pretty personal comment IMO, nothing to do with commentary at all), how about you throw some ideas up on how they could improve. I personally think the job they did last year was awesome and I know they will only get better.

Now, moving foward, how are the competitors coming along? All going to be ready?

Team Bundy is better prepared for this Tuff Truck, than it was for the previous 2.
After much strategising, our game plan this year is to keep it on all 4 wheels, as we have found it is easier to accumalate points than when it's on it's side.
other than that, it's make it up as comes along.

So is the strategy to have your navi drive all tracks this year so the Bundy does stay on its wheels :D :finger:

I agree totally miss. Perhaps those who think they can handle the gig could do perhaps a 5 minute stint on the mic (pre arranged) and see what the crowd thinks of them. Bit like Tuff truck idol or some crap. Then for shore I would think all would appreciate what the commentry tribe do.
I do think they are great and its piss funny when they make mistakes.
I for shore wouldnt do it Not even after a box of coronas.

I do like the transmit on FM idea.
