Choosing a mud tire?

i been lookin at 35" muds with sidewall tread and come up with some goodies.
there mainly for wkend use but will hit the tar a bit..
any suggestions would be appreciated?

-BFGOODRICH KM2
-MAXXIS TREPADOR
-MICKY THOMSON MTZ

Any other goodies?

I am using Maxxis Bighorns which are extremly good, not as agressive as the Treps but still an awsome tyre. they surprised me

The MTZs have the biggest side bitters out of all these radial tyres and perform great on road/off road.
These side bitters work well in mud, sand and rocks.
Nitto Mud Grapplers, Lockrite, 4.3s, Trail Ready BL, PTO, High pinion rear,Gu diff with Buds Customs armour and heaps of Superior gear, 24% Reduction .

im running maxxis bighorns 35 i agree there a great tire but ive staked 2 in 3 trips at low pressures..

yeah i,ll keep me old bf muddies for road use and i decided
to get the mickey mtz, best tread around and cheapest out of the lot
at $410 a quater for 35", radial just incase i dont wanna take em off..

i had the mtz great tyre wore a bit quick but very good tyre..

im going to be trying the km2 as i can get them for a similar dollar value...

Given an unrestricted budget, I'd go MT MTZ's. But as I am restricted, my next set of tyres will more than likely be Maxxis Big Horns in 315/16's.

popped one off the bead at 12psi once but that was me doing donuts and pop off she went

I am thinking about beadlocking them

heheh no, beadlocks so i can keep them on the rim

I ran my Wranglers at 12-15PSI and i could still turn sharp and do donuts without popping them off the bead.

I like the Maxxis better, the tread works so much better and the wear is so much better on a large 4x4 compared to the wranglers, so i will compensate for the shoe popping with beadlocks,

You said you have only ONCE lost a bead doing donuts and not while 4x4ing!!! So you don't need beadlocks!! Don't do donuts problem sloved $1200 saved!! if you buy cheap rims or $2000 saved if you get decent rims.

I run 2 sets and my off roaders are the mtz! May sound odd but I had then on for about 2 weeks just on road when I fist got them to see how they drove and if I could afford it I would run them the whole time. Although a little noisier the truck felt better with those rather them rather than my roaders. All in all... Awesome tyres!
