well there's lots to read here since last night, so ill keep it short. firstly thanks to brendon and all his crew who helped on the day, and throughout the year. thanks to shane for supporting it, (and for the winch) and thanks to all the competitors in all classes, the company has been brilliant all year. the green 60 will be back again next year, probably still unlocked.
unfortunately wot ive read here so far sounds like the beginning of the end of so many other comps ive watched over the years. for some reason we all have a nack at destroying great opportuntities that are presented to us. many an organiser has put their hands in the air and said 'i dont know why i bother' and if we're not carefull this could happen again here. public forums give people dangerous courage to say things they perhaps should say personally to the event organiser.
i dont wanna back any arguments here, cause it just starts more, n i hate to say it but maybe 11evils right in that it'd be better if there were no or at least smaller prizes, to emphasise the FUN factor of the event. ( even i got caught up in wanting that winch).
i guess i do feel 39's in x mod leaves to big a gap between it and mod, but if thats how it is next year bring it on, as has been said before (and proven) its not just about your equipment.
all i do know is we definately dont wanna discourage any new cars from coming, big or small. there was a fantastic variety of trucks there over the weekend, more diverse than i think ive ever seen. i dont know wot the best fix for all of this would be, its very hard to please everyone, so i think we should just except wotever brendon decides. afterall, its a pretty cheap entry fee, and u get good drive time.

I have just finished work. This is becoming an entertaining read.
The stages will be getting harder next year as that will sort out those who can drive and those who are still learning.
We will also be having a DFN if you don't drive the track and by pass the route because it's to difficult. You will still be able to drive the part of the track you want but will no get any more points.
Simplified rules will be up on the SRAP site soon.
We look forward to the ladies drive. My wife is almost in.

This has always been a fun event but if people are treating it too seriously there will be no option but to reduce or stop the prizes. We are nowhere near that point yet though.
I do understand that if some people are allowed to break the rules but others are not then this is no longer fun so next year we will increase the penalty for bigger tyres or run these people without them being able to get a prize.
First time competitors will always be allowed to break the rules as Brendon sees fit. The idea is to include everyone not put someone in a harder class when they are not willing to do so much panel damage or don't have the confidence to drive hard.
I am very happy with the rules as 11 Evil has described, it is the finer points I want to clear up so the younger people who are competiting for the sheep stations can relax.
RED24 You are a very argumentive person in person as well as online so folks Aaron isn't putting it on for the forum, this is the way he is. But you did make me laugh when you are talking up a possible other comp. That is sooooo wrong. LOL

As someone hoping to compete in this comp next year all I will say is I hope the attitude of some dont ruin the event. I like the idea of a fun comp where there is some allowance given to newcomers and those that dont wish to damage their trucks in the next class, due to daily driver etc.
Hopefully the fun factor most have spoken about this year remains next year

stock means stock.
mod class- up to say 33s one locker
extreme mod- 35/37 double lock
outlaw- 35-44 lock bars cuts whateva..
pretty much how it was at the begining.
yes there is and can be exceptions for the above within reason.
a nervous driver can drive in stock/ mod class with penalties

Standard - No lockers, 2"lift, upto 33s
Mod - 1 Locker, 4" lift, upto 35s
Pro mod - Lockers, 4"+ (for all the patrols ), upto 38s
Standard, Mod & Pro Mod still need to resemble full bodied rigs, ute conversions are accepted. As is bar work all over.
Outlaw - Same as pro mod but upto 42s and major chassis mods are accepted
Buggie Outlaw - Anything goes
I tried to keep it as simple as possible with tyre size being the main point to go by in each class as it seems to always be the talking point between competitors (and I dont mean in a negative way).
I think that given todays standards so many guys run rather large tyres, so why restrict them too much.
Body lifts are a null point - if you have a 15" body lift it is completely irrelevant.
You can see that mod and pro mod are almost identical so it could allow the guys with dual lockers and only 35s the option to either compete against the pro mods with 38s or disengage a locker and rumble with the Mods on 35s.
For those competing in the single locker class with dual locking capabilities, allow the driver a selection of which locker to have access to prior to starting the stage.
If you have auto lockers and small tyres then tough luck you tight bum, buy some 38s with the money you saved
If you have more then 4" lift and still only run 35s then that's your problem and you should seriously consider your gender preference

The classes is too restrictive of tyre sizes. comon 4" lift with only 33s... Grimace
And who cares about engine components... I dont care if someone has a stock suzuki with a rover V8, they should be able to enter the stock (in my case I called it standard) class.
Obviously yours goes into more detail of the requirements (safety etc) for each competitor and vehicle and I completely agree with them.
I think exo cages or internal cages should be completey accepted in any class as they add safety for occupants and also protect the owners pride and joy.

I agree with Grimace your classes are much too stringent and you would end up with few if any vehicles in some of those classes. I think half the reason this comp has so many people interested and enjoying it, is that a weekend trail rig already set up can find a class. And unlike some other comps are not being forced to join the next class up if they are not comfortable or willing to.

I liked your more than the previous efforts too.
33's and 4" lift, that's the maximum not what you have to run. And the legal limit for most registered cars........
I'd like to see more road driven cars out there, hence the no exo cage/chop chop type 4by's...
I reckon If you want to run an Exo cage and 39"+ tyres.. that's OUTLAW.
Stock means stock, and would be a good class for the new commers to learn some skills in.
EXTREME MOD would see just about every make of 4by fit within the guidelines.. without the buggies and tough trucks getting in the way..
Meh, doesn't matter much to me anyways. I'll be there next year (Weekend work pending!!) and have some fun beating the Japanese Junk

The problem I see is poor young timmy doing his welding ticket, who has a stock suzuki with home made exo can't really compete.
It also means that if I was to enter Fluffy with 37s and dual lockers, I would be fine for the extreme mod, but as soon as I run some bar work up the a pillar and over the roof line I am an outlaw?
The bar work is there to give me confidence and add safety, so you gain that, and then get stuck against chopped rigs that weight less, have bigger tyres, have more flex, more power, more stability etc etc...
Then you have to drive over stuff bigger then your bonnet all because of some bars... barwork doesnt necessarily make a car more capable, I guess is what I am saying.
Same theory as to why I dont think classes should consider body lifts, they just there to clear bigger tyres, which makes them irrelevant, because as soon as the tyre size goes up, you go up a class.
If you run small tyres and a big body lift your gonna be at less of an advantage to those running the same tyres without IMHO.
My original classing was to allow more overlap between class requirements so people could choose to change certain things to be in different classes and not have to redo their entire vehicle. If that makes sense? I dont know, I havnt realy thought about it much until today. Never really intended on competing either, just thought I would throw up another opinion.
