3RZ Temperature Gauge

Post by Struddy »

G'Day All,

I have stuck a 3RZ into a 84 4Runner petrol, its nearly done just before I drive it any distance I want to sort out some sort of temp gauge so I don't damage the new engine.

Is there a way to use the factory cluster gauge using a signal from the ECU, or have most conversions just used an aftermarket gauge?

Thanks

Mines also using the stock temp gauge. The 3rz should have 2 coolant temp sensors, one for the ecu signal the other for the dash gauge. The one for the dash gauge is mounted near where the top radiator hose goes into the block I think. I did the conversion into a 93 4runner and the standard 22R coolant temp sensor for the dash gauge plugged straight in. Hope this helps
