TB42 cracked head
TB42 cracked head
i have a TB42 head of a petrol motor, it has a crack in it can it be fixed, talking to some bloke he said thay are to hard to fix. how true is this. and how much would it cost to get fixed.
Get a rockwell hardness test in multiple places over the deck, if you don't get at least 85 rockwell at all points then chuck the head or you will be chasing blown gaskets and new cracks. Alloy loses its hardening over time, repeated heating and cooling, overheating makes matters worse, Buy a new casting and get another 15 years and 250000 klms
