Turbo Glide have a similar set-up, but it doesn't run extra injectors, piggyback computer to tune timing and AFR's, my brothers runs a full stainless exhaust at $2000, huge bar plate intercooler and upgraded valve body in auto to stop auto slipping with the extra torque it produces. You get what you pay for. If long lasting reliablitity is what your after then spend the extra. Plus my brothers car makes 185 all wheel kws not 150kws on the same boost. You work it out.

Depends if you use all the available throttle position.

Daz's Supercharged 80 on 35/37's uses the same fuel (if not less) than a standard model, and similar power to this turbo model shown here.
Cheers,
Dan.

My last turbo 80 on 94 octane [was no 98 octane in 1995......] made 228 rw kw and 580odd nm torque at the wheels, when spending the right money for the right job ;) .

My current supercharged and intercooled 4.5 auto is 187kw and 620nm on 37's running piggy back computer, all the good stuff.

The turbo would get down into the 11's per 100km hwy, and up to 26 lt per 100km Robe, Portland etc, the supercharged one gets high 15's per 100km hwy, and 22-28 fully loaded desert trips or outback running 20 psi 37's.

The 4.5 is a good thing when it has inlet positive pressure. :D
Supercharged 80 SOLD - "OPERATION SANDY" now in effect.

I was going to tubo this one, but came across a second hand supercharger kit for < $ 1800, so thought that would suffice.

And yes, way more power and torque than a TD, the 4.5 in the 100 is already more powerful than a TD and makes more low down torque [390Nm @800 rpm] than a TD, so the positive presure only helps.

my mate has the 1FZ/FE in his 75 series ute as standard and no engine mods and it smokes 35s and drags off commodores so yeah there is bulk power available from the standard motor :D

and there are plans of throwing a garret t4 turbo on the side of it for a lil more fun  :D :D
