Just got my 105 series done on gas a couple of days ago. Gunna give it a run towing a car on the weekend. Will find out. Cost me $4200 mnus the $1750 rebate. They changed the air filter and plug leads in that price.

I got the twin scuba tanks under the sides. This way I didn't have to buy a spare wheel carrier.

Ive got the replacement 95litre (Usable) gas tank on my 80 series. So ive still got 90 litres petrol and 95 gas. But pay the extra and get the gas injection system!!! I hooked it up 6 months ago. Runs like a dream 11-$12 per 100k's. Ive heard stories about it burning out valves. But thats definately not the case in mine. They are still seated perfectly and I can only speak for myself.

My 80 series has been on gas for 11 years now, its done about 280,000km of which 200,000 have been on LPG.

I had the head rebuilt after it dropped a valve at approx 210,000 which seems to be about the point that shit happens with valves from what I hear.

Head rebuild was $3000 installed.

Economy is fair to shit house........4.5k/litre on gas and about 5.5k/litre on ULP and its in fairly standard trim, OME 2 inch lift kit, roof rack and alloy bar.

Is it worth doing, yup, cos they are a bitch to feed on ULP if you do any sort of miles in them!

iv also had gas fitted for about 11 to 12 years, i only just now rebuit the head at 300, 000km on the clock, it still had the original valves in, i didnt check the vavle clerance when i got the car and the vavles ended up not closing all the way and burnt the seats out, i got new stainles steel valves and some special type of seat that is ment to be better for gas.. it cost me 1700 but i took the head out of the car myself,,, would also recommend having an upper cylinder lubricator fitted for about $50, will def help with valve life.

I bought mine a month ago, it runs the flash lube for the valves, I had the gas serviced before I went to the High Country last week and cruisin on the Hume I got 430kms out of a 100 ltr LPG tank (90 usable) when I got home I ran down beween Sydney and Newcastle a couple of times and got 475kms cruisin at 95kph, if you drive steady and let the car do the work and not use the loud pedal the LPG is really economical, this is cheaper to run than my old Diesel Hilux (5L).
Very happy with it.

Engines got 430,000kms on it.
