Big flex= big fabrication.
A well balanced car with moderate flex and lockers will outperform a car with "big flex" especially if the flex is badly controlled or the car is badly balanced.

Or to save $$$ just get a LockRight instead of the airlocker.
In a Sierra there is not a lot of weight so when you get too much flex there is limited downwards force to drive the wheels, much better to lock the diff and make sure that when (not if) a wheel lifts that the drive is still getting to the grounded wheel.
All "big flex" is good for is posing.
i disagree there - balanced flex is just fine - however the use of drop shackles and dodgy setups does make for a posing and uncapable vehicle. The process of getting balanced big flex is about a million times more complicated than no flex and lockers. The reason most of us recommend minimal lift and large tyres is that its simple and effective - no one is denying theres better options though.

I have seen some $tupid setups which give heaps of flex but very limited driveability. Better flex than standard is required but as you state must remain balanced.
A Zook is light and nimble, lifting a wheel or two is fairly natural, so long as traction can be maintained it is not a problem. With 2" of lift in the springs (soft springs with the load leaf removed), good long enough shocks. There is enough flex to drive just about any obstacle. What stops you beyond that is driver skill, traction, torque etc not flex.
