More flex from a SPUA MK SWB?
Is there a way to make a Sprung under SWB patrol flex a little better in the front end.
I have already ditched the sway bars in search of more flex but find that the wheels front doesn't work as well as the rear does.
The front tucks up quite well and I have had to cut the indicator protectors and will have to trim edge of guard to clear 35's but droop is not enough.
What have othes done in the past to better this. And SPOA is not a solution at the moment

I am trying to find someone on this forum that has used or made them. If you manage to do it could you let me know?

Longer main leaves in the front will give better drop,but will steer a bit 5hitty at speed on crap roads depending on your steering setup.And as beefie said, check the lenghth of your shocks.Also changing the bottom shock mount to an eye instead of a pin helps as there is no twist on the shock.

yeah, i have heard the u-bolts do snap, though i have never snapped any, not that it matters now as i have SOA.
With regards to the flex, MQ080 is definatly right about not having anything close to the flex in the front as in the back, but GQ's have the same problem. Its common and im not sure there is anything that can be done to make the front as good as the rear, but there are definatly ways of increasing the front.

cost me a great deal from a good mate, so in terms of a dollar figure i couldnt say, as no money was switched over. They are worth about $3500 to $4000 from people like ' Offroad Industries ' fully fitted and engineered though.
I think i got about 8 - 10 inches out of it maybe more depending on the tyres etc.
I can now fit 38's whereas before i was scraping 33's to give ya an idea.

Alot of welding, as in New shock perches, New Spring perches, new extended cross member. Will need longer drive shafts, extended brake lines and breathers, bigger tyres and new high steering setup for starters. If you do it right and get it engineered with a certificate u are road worthy. If u get it done for the dollar amount in the previous post its road worthy as from when u leave the mechanic.

I did my own SPOA and it cost about $600 + a weekend. Best weekend ever spent on the nissan! Made a vehicle out of it. Just put a 2" body lift in as well last weekend and it made bugger all difference to the way it handles. It really drives nice.
All MQ SOA 's will give ya about the same amount of increased lift as the diff housings are all exactly the same diameter. About 8 - 10 inches.
Ive got Rancho RS9000's on the front and basic monroes for the rear at the moment but will upgrade when the dollars suit.

Just go here http://www.superiorengineering.com.au and look under before and after photos. I don't know a lot about everything that was done to this vehicle but I would think that longer spring packs with moved fixed eye mounts in the rear would be a start.
The whole spring pack would not have been moved forward just the mount to accomodate the longer length of spring.
Is a nice truck and apparently flexes good. Depends what you want to do and what you want to spend etc. As usual with anything.
