We had our first recovery a fortnight ago, a semi backed off the edge down the bottom. Took two other semis and four hours to get him out. Of course it had to happen on day when we had no machines
Charlies new dozer arrived from Brisbane today
Taking no more dirt for now. Major earth works will (should) be completed within a week

Me and the guys from Kamikaze went out there today to give the guys a hand, it's starting to look really good, alot of work to do though. Some good ideas and concepts and they are open to suggestions. Bring on The MASTERS.
You gimps from other clubs should get in contact with the guys and give them a hand, we will be out there again for sure! They are hiring some equipment from the 4th to the 8th of january 2010 and are having a working bee, so if you have some spare time give em' a hand. Let's help get this show on the road!

It has been a stressful last few weeks and Mark was over the moon with effort from all the Kamikaze boys today
He informed me that you guys made some awesome obstacles today, I cant wait to see them myself
As Albey said we welcome the support of any club who wishes to help with course building.
Any club wanting to help can PM me and we will arrange something.
Apparently the guys got photos today, I will gather them and post them up very late tomorrow (ie early Monday morning when I get home from work).
Again a BIG THANK YOU to the guys from KAMAKAZE CLUB for coming out today to help
a BIG THANK YOU to the guys from BONG BONG CLUB as well. The guys from Bong Bong have been out a few times to help out already. (It's not just a flat hill any more guys )

as Wayne said HUGE thanks to the fellas (and kids) from Kamikaze who have also promised to get blokes out on the week of the 4th to the 8th.
Kamikaze have taken ownership of track number 6 and it is looking friggen awsome. We have also been working on track 1 and have got a bunch of the obsticles near finnished on that track.
Any club that would like to put their hands up to take on a track or even a few obstices on a track PM Wayne for details, Wayne and or Mark can fill you in on what can be done and the finer details.
Today was another productive day, but I did a bead on the bobcat........need beadlocks
A few pic
The workings of 70 through 100 points on track 6, looking good in the flesh.....first event will be running down the hill
looking up 30p on t1
same one from a different angle, will be heading in this direction, turning into the obsticle and then hard l up the switch back into another obsticle
60p on t1 heads up
70 and 80p on t1 comeing down
from a different veiw, it will keep coming down right to the bottom and then the 100p is just plain cruel.....or will be when we have done it
side view of the start of the 70 through 90p down hill run on t1
SO if any clubs want to have a chance to design and build a course now is your chance, we have a log course a couple of all terain courses and a concrete / building site course that need to be done, we will have material, machinery and operators to help and a basic layout to follow, but the physical obsticles will be up to the blokes building them so you can do your worst and get your own back on the mongrel kamikaze mob.....PM Wayne on the 16em user ASAP or you will miss out
Cheers

the rules might have changed then you can't
I would reckon you will need to clarify EXACTLY what you want
engineered as I reckon nearly every truck you want to compete will not
be engineered!
It is your event and you can run it anyway you want to but I think asking
for engineered cars is going to cause alot of non starters. Under CCDA
they don't ask for it at Outback challange do they!

If the trucks modifications require engineering for registration you need to provide an engineers report <<<Exactly thatturbo gu wrote:

Leeway will be made for the first few rounds as we understand not everybody has engineered their trucks. The leeway is to give time to get your truck engineered if required.
We are not Willowglen, Toperi, Outback Challenge or any other comp you wish to draw a comparison. Yes many comps run under CCDA sanctioning and many use the same classes however each event has supplementary regulations and all events have slight differences due to these regs.
We require engineering for a number of reasons but as I stated earlier we will give leeway for the first few rounds. Use the leeway wisely and you will not have any problems.

But just make sure you enforce the same rules for every vehicle .
Im sure there are some trucks out there with illegal mods that are engineered . Is an engineer's report worth the paper it is written on.
Any vehicle fitted with extended shackles for instance , is illegal & can not legally be engineered so can not compete .
Buy allowing 37"s & bead locks in this comp any vehicle that does have an engineer's report will then have been modified after the report was given , hence the report isn't worth sqat at the time of the event
I think Wayne's initiative on staging this event is nothing short of sensational, and goes along way to filling a boyd in 4WD comps (in NSW at least). I applaud his efforts. However, the points that Shady raises are spot on. Before the running of TTC09, we talked at great length with our solicitor and got a good insight into the rego'd vehicle aspect of comp. Insisting on vehicle registration was opening a can of worms in a major way and left us wide open legally. I explored prospective options and whilst I didn't want to do it, the dropping of 'must be registered' for competing vehicles at TTC just had to happen.Shady wrote:If you want to run with engineers reports that is fine .16EM wrote:If the trucks modifications require engineering for registration you need to provide an engineers report <<<Exactly thatturbo gu wrote:

Wayne may have this aspect covered (I hope that he does) and it isn't just the Australian 4x4 Masters Series that needs to contend with the matter, but I wouldn't like to see this issue come back to bite the 4WD comp scene on the arse.

Some of you blokes that want to compete in an unengineered, unregistered vehicle may have a pos that breaks and holds up the comp for the rest of the competitors and spectators.
Or is it you want to compete in a rusty old wreck on its last legs with a few dodgy mods and with no money spent to keep it reliable?
If your mods are engineered there is a high probability that they will be of a reasonable standard. Not thrown together in someones back yard with the help of your mates and a couple of cartons of grog!
As for Tuff Truck going to unreg vehicles that is for them to decide.
The original appeal of T T was the fact that the vehicles had to be regoed and the spectators and magazine readers could identify with that and most of the vehicles still had the majority of the body panels and chassis stock.
They were not buggies with panels and lights bolted on.
Track is looking good. I cant wait to see this comp all come together.

Keep it simple
That is all well and good but can someone point me in the direction that will engineer 37" tires and an internal roll cage on a hilux?Pal wrote:Some of you blokes that want to compete in an unengineered, unregistered vehicle may have a pos that breaks and holds up the comp for the rest of the competitors and spectators.

You can still have an unregistered vehicle that complies with all the CCDA rules and is not a rusty old POS.
99% of circuit racing cars are unregistered and not POS', most of them have internal roll cages, harnesses etc
My 2 cents worth
You go and drive Tuff Truck or any of the other big comps with your legally registered , engineered well built truck , with all its original panels , on 35" tyres with no extended shackles , no roll cage etc . Lets see how long it lasts . Because rego or engineer's certificate won't help you drive it home ( No F*#!n idea.)Pal wrote:Some of you blokes that want to compete in an unengineered, unregistered vehicle may have a pos that breaks and holds up the comp for the rest of the competitors and spectators.
