60 series vacuum transfer case question

Post by holeyhardtop »

I need to replace the gearbox in my 75 series troopy, noisy +++. Have found a complete box and transfer case for a fair price but it used to have a vacuum operated hi/lo part fitted to the box and I don't want to buy it if it wont work.

Question I have is can I unbolt the hi/lo lever/linkage off my current transfer case and bolt it to this one in place of the vacuum set up?

No, you will need to dissassemble the transfer case and change a few parts.

I am doing the same thing at the moment, see this link.

Thanks for the link, told me all I need to know ;)

I will just keep looking for a 60/75 series box/transfer to suit so it just bolts in, a bit less work for me.
