I know the 1.0 body doesn't fit on the 1.3 chassis's but if its a ute it may be different.
So will you be parting with the coiler front clip??

The body mounts are in the same locations but they are not 100% compatible (the 1.3 has cupped mounts and the 1.0 has basically flat mounts) .. It may be possible to cobble something together..
The only way to be sure would be to look at two chassis\bodies side by side ..

As the captive bolts are on the body side (for the 1.3L body) and not attached to the chassis though - it should still work as per a regular 1L body swap though right?

I knew that the was a signifigant difference .. just could not recall exactly what.. I know Christover has done a bodylift with 2 inch box on his 1 litre LWB .. perhaps he can shed some definitive light on this topic ..

Based upon the fact that stevie g's bodylift kit for the coiler and for my car are the same i'm pretty sure that the setups for both will be the same. Hense - it should just be the differences between ute bodies and non-ute bodies, and 1L vs 1.3L.
Search on bodylifts in this forum - there some good info about what else needs work - i.e. brake cylinder etc...
cheers

thanks guys,
I do want to keep the front clip( i wouldnt be able to part with it!!)
The 1lt body mounts do have the same studs as a coily, but i will go check
as i have a 1lt soft top for spares and iv got a 1300 chassi sitting bare next to it( a project that didnt happen! lol,
any ideas on a rear setup, I know i have to move my diff back at least 3''. im planing on new trailing arms with an a-frame top. its already got
2 1/2 coils and ranchos, plus modded front towers as they dont make struts.

grimbo wrote:you may have big problems trying to match a 1ltr tub to a coily frontend as they are significantly different in body shape, well I'm pretty sure I think, maybe. Be worth checking out in more depth before commencing
I was just thinking that too - the tubs are different in front of the doors (between the doors and the front wheel well)... And i think they are also different between the front wheel well and the headlights.
perhaps it will be "easiest" to cut both tubs at the centre of the front wheel well and weld them both together again - though this does seem like a waste of two tubs really

I agree .. get two workshop manuals .. they will have detailed chassis drawings in them along with measurements etc .. may save you allot of time and angst in the long run ..

why not just chop the coily tub down into a ute instead of mucking aroud trying to mate two different body shapes together. Seems like this would be the easiet and quickest way to go

If the planned outcome is going to be a softop it would be feasible to get the 1L or 1.3L body tub as the passenger area because it has a removable (and replacable) windscreen - the coiler does not.

Have a quick search mate - we've talked about this one before... but basically it will be:
1. some of the body bolts and
2. brakes
Cheers
