Fixing cousins XJ while he is away! HALP!

Fixing cousins XJ while he is away! HALP!
Ok so my cousin has a 2001? XJ Cherokee that I assume was purchased off an ausjeep member.
I aint no jeep tech head so bare with me!
It's a 4L Auto with diff gears, dual lockers, 33" procomps and what seems to be 6" RE springs up front and some ghey leafs out back.
It's a heap of shit! Brakes like crap, drives like crap, rides like crap, looks like crap
He is currently overseas and I am trying my best to get this thing sorted so the wheelin adventures can begin.
I have had the tyres and wheels balanced (one was out by 495grams ), and that has cleared up a lot of the constant vibrations.
Still at speeds over 60klm, under acceleration, the rear shaft is givin off a nasty vibration.
I am tempted to remove the front shaft completely to rule it out, but the vibration definately feels like it's in the back end.
So what I am after is info on any common work arounds (if any) for this, or if a standard balance of the driveshaft will suffice.
Also looking for some 4" front springs to replace the 6". If anyone has anything on offer please let me know.
I already went and purchased a fire extinguisher for it

At 6" lift (WTF??) it should have a SYE (slip yoke eliminator) as the stock XJ output shaft doesn't have a double cardin joint on it.
Also, If it's got that much lift, I doubt the rear pinion angle is ok. You can get wedges to put under the spring pads to correct...
If it's still vibrating after you've checked that, pull the front shaft (easy on the XJ) if it's still there.. check tranny mounts, left hand (pass) engine mount (heat kills em).
If you like your cousin, flush the coolant out of the system and replace it with fresh stuff. Big motor in a little engine bay. they run hot.
or.......
Just burn it

The pinion angle honestly doesn't look all that bad. I might use some of my Land Rover skilz to rotate the driveshaft to run slightly out of phase either way and see if that improves it any!
Trust me flaming it doesnt sound like a bad idea!
I already improved it by removing all the jeep thing stickers
Using British Crap skills to fix American Crap ..... bound to end in tearsGRIMACE wrote:

Another problem with Dana 30's (Possibly a LP in a 2001), is the unit bearings, check them out too.
yeah Driveshaft phase is probably too tech for the yank mobils eh!OIIIO wrote:Using British Crap skills to fix American Crap ..... bound to end in tearsGRIMACE wrote:

i think i'll just burn it
Hmm never thought of that, and yes it does have some custom stuff up front with regards to the front 5 link.Wooders wrote:Probably a fragged engine or transmission mount.
yeah 6" WAAAAY too much lift....is it still short arm too?
The arms are still short but longer then standard.
It's dark blue!dave123bikes wrote:Is this a blue jeep if so the jeep is very well setup
So anyone got any smaller springs that wants to sell/swap even???
Grimace its a piece of shit yank mobile!!!!!!!!!! Drive it the last 40 meters of its life straight into the dam down the back> Then when it does burst into flames its in water and want burn anything else around it. Thats if the Dana 5s dont break before you get to the damn.

Thanks for the help Grimace. Looks like the tranny mount is shagged, will replace this and see how it goes.
