TD42 wet or dry cylinder liners ?

Post by hoon »

We have a td42 in our bus (1992 150,000 klm) that throws the coolant out the radiator something cronical and it also has a knocking sound that I reckon is hydraulic not mechanical.
Cracked each injector as it was running to try and id which pot was crook, none made any difference and it is not chugging on one pot.
Ripped the head off expecting to find cracks but all looks good and it has no indication of blowby on the head gasket. That leads me to think that it would be a cavitation pinhole in one of the liners but as far as I know the TD has a dry liner ???????? unsure need to verify? confirmation would be good :?:
There is no oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil
