disco stalls when it gets wet and muddy

i took my disco out for the first time (hilux is off the road :cry: ) and after a bit (maybe alot) of mud and water the car stalled and wouldnt start for about half an hour. im guessing its due to the electricals. Is there any way or any thing i can upgrade to prevent this??

its a 94 model 3.9 litre

I take it you drowned the dizzy which is common with the rover V8, various things you can do -
1) seal the cap
2) spray with WD40 prior to drowning
3) make a shield to stop water spray from the fan swamping the dizzy
4) use a small airhorn sized compressor to pressurise the dizzy to prevent water ingress.
5) Drive into puddles slowly then power out
Saddle up tonto, its the not so loanrangie! . 98 TDI DISCO lightly modded with more to come.

cheers i had a feeling it might have been the dizzy.

i think im going to go with option 2 and 3 :D

first mud whole in meni i thought sweet as i damn killed the bastard
sounded like a 2 stroke lawn mower for a bit afterwards

try sealing up your dizzy with a LIGHT amount of sicaflex or just try not to hit the puddles too hard

Megajolt!
And get rid of that clockwork rubbish.
One day ill video a piccy of me jet washing my engine with it running and post on u tube.
at something like 4:17 on this video you can see what im talking about, running well through mud.
