Bundy to hilux axle Interchangeability

Post by esky »

Hi guys, asking for a mate of mine who wants to do hi steer and a few things with his diffs. He has an 87 lux and a mid 80's (84 I think) Bundera shorty. Do the knuckles and or diff centers from the bundera fit the hilux diffs? If they don't, are there 4.88 ratio centers available for the bundy diffs?

The centres swap. The knuckles swap. The bundera has factory 4.88 gears. The front centre will be high pinion. The housings are different widths, so steering linkages will not work.

Diesel Bundys run 4.88, petty version 4.3 diffs and both are high pinion as mentioned AFAIK.

Axles are different lengths to hilux's as well, long side 770mm & short 410mm.
The housings are same width as hilux, but the centre is offset slightly more to the drivers side.
