3rz gauges

Post by YN67highlux »

hey guys,
i have searched but most information i have found is on deisel conversions,
im putting a 3rz into my yn67 hilux ,was with 4y motor. the guy doing my wiring later in the week is telling me because the new motor is wired through the computer i cant use any of my in dash gauges. (taco, temp,) dont really want after market gauges if i can get around it.
has anyone got there gauges working?
also need to know about the oil sensor can i plug the wire off original loom somewhere? as he wants to get an after market oil pressure gauge as well,

thanks heaps in advance

lol, he probably shouldn't be doing you wiring then! If he has any clue he will be able to work it out.

Temp:
I took a wire straight from the temp sender and found the signal wire for the temp gauge on the instrument cluster.

Tacho:
Take the tachometer output from the ecu (C8 Red & White) and connect it to the signal wire to the instrument cluster. It probably wont be anywhere near accurate. I replaced the 33k resistor on the tacho circuit board with a 10k one This is using a 22R cluster. Not sure about resistance for the 4Y cluster.

Oil pressure:
The aftermarket gauge will come with its own sender, use a T piece in the original Oil sender location and add in the after market sender for you gauge.

Hope this helps
