4.4 cam, 4 barrel manifold and carby power problems ??

Post by 4.42doormangierangie »

hi peoples,

we've just done a mod to the 76 2 door, it was a long time coming and finally did it.

changed out the holley 2 bbrl and inlet for a max wedge performance 4 barrel manifold and truck avenger carby at the same time put a new mild cam in.

we tuned the motor last week and i just wanted to see your points of view, the vacum guage was telling us that there was sufficient vacum with no leaks, we managed to get the idle mixture just right and then took it for a drive, since changing the carby from the 2brl to the 4 brl we havent noticed a huge power or torque increase and im wondering if this has anything to do with the jet performance (not forgetting its a bog stock truck avenger 470cfm) and its also a single plane manifold not a dual....

im wondering if anyone here has had experience with the holley carbs and jetting them to be correctly set up for the 4.4 p76. Also did any of you try the will power manifold with a 4 brl carby and ar eyou having the same issues with the single plane. the mild cam hasnt made a huge difference but im still using the scorcher 3.5 litre electronic ignition and need to get it re-mapped for this set up.

any info would be appreciated.
