body lifting auto lwb gq
body lifting auto lwb gq
going to body lift my lwb gq its an auto does lifting affect shifting and when i got 50mm blocks do i leave in std blocks if so do i put blocks ontop or underneath cheers
yea new blocks ontop of old ones and bolts up from the bottom under the seat belt saves pulling it off. 50mm you do have to cut or as i did drill nd chisel a chunk out of the floor behind the 4wd lever or you will not get low 4wd, also found with mine u gta give the auto shifter a bit of a wiggle now nd then to get it to start as the nutural switch dosent line up rite sumtimes. And dont forget to fix up your steering input either.

Well from MY experience as a tradesmen mechanic with over 10 years experience, on my 89 gq patrol fitting a superiour 50mm body lift you do need to mod the floor and the bracket for the rubber boot not just the rubber as it will not select low 4 and in my opinion not doing so could risk damge to the transfer through jumping out at an unwanted time this is only my experience on my patrol.

Can gain flex by clearing the cross members, or you could cut the chassis and cross member up, cut holes in the floor, cut the rad shroud, bend leavers ect.big lux wrote:And increase the drive shaft angles buy another 2inches without gaining any extra flex. yea woonastytroll wrote:raise the motor and box 2". Only a short sighted person would cut the floor.
Alot more benefeits to an engine lift than not having one, but as a tradesman mechanic I'm sure you know all abot that. I'm sure you have tried both to see the difference too.
Also how do you get the old body bolt out past the seatbeat without removing the seat belt? How do you tighten the bolt with the seat belt right above it? Please educate the stupid people on this forum (or just me) from your extensive experiance in 10 years of parts changing.
im gessing its just you ,being there are alot of bright people on here dont drag them down with you. The bolt will come out past it with just the plastic cover off and u can get a bar with socket on it underneath it if u use the rite tools for the job.
And you seem to be wanting to complicate a simple thing like a 50mm body lift u can do in yur shed in a few hours into a major job.
I think maybe you should get some of your own experience up yur sleeve before u go ranting again
Toolmaker/fitter machinist??? explains all.
