Sorry for what may be a dumb question. I have searched and cannot find the answer.
I plan to run 35's when I get reduction gears in my GU.
I am looking at some 33's on 0 offset rims. Will they work? Or do I need a negative offset rim to pump the wheels out more?
My understanding is negative offset makes wheels stick out further and positive the other way? Or am I back to front?

Can I run 0 offset rims on a GU?
Other way around buddy. Negative offset rims will stick out more than zero or positive offset rims - this is why a lot of people go for the "-22mm" (ie. negative) offset landcruiser rim, to get a wider track and help clear guards etc.
You'll probably find that 0 offset rims will have a fairly flat centre section, which would rub on your brake caliper - a good example would be a new hilux fitted with 16" sunraisers. Also, i think if you had 0 offset rims and 35" tyres you'd have major dramas clearing guards, swaybar links etc etc.
EDIT: Have a look at this diagram for a better explanation. The inside of your wheel is on the left, the outside of your wheel is on the right.

The split rims i run would have a 0 or smallish positive offset too, but they also have a recess moulded into the casting to allow clearance of the brke caliper.
