I have a hilux LN106 with lots of slop in the steering the slop is coming from the arm thats attatched to the pitman arm and then to the (i presume) J arm

Im asking because im going to the wreckers tomorow and dont want to sound like a newb

Its just an idler box and arm, common as to flog out, i think you can get bush kits for them
79 Series RV, 305 Mickey T's, 2" OME, 3" into twin 4" stacks, LOL, Love it

being a 106 and having a j arm it sounds like the drag link.....
Keep it shiny side up!
Now doing general fab work and painting
trays, trailers, engine swaps on request, some tube work, silo section sliders, rust repairs, ute chops etc

You can buy kits for the ends but if the J arm ball is chewed out it's time for a new/second hand J arm. New is very expensive. You can also buy new complete drag links if the link slot is flogged out too.

Have u checked the idler itself? My draglink ends were buggered and i didnt notice the movement in the idler till i put a fair load on it. Anyway yeh go to repco and grab a couple of draglink repair kits mine were about $15 and easy to fit.

I thought the drag links were the ones that went from wheel to wheel to keep the right alignment ?

by the way this is a solid axle hilux

I am quite familiar with the IFS

Draglink goes from pitman arm to swivel hub. Tie rod goes between wheels
