God of Magnificant Ideas!
places to get a kit from .....
Marks adaptors.
http://www.marks4wd.com/
Not a "cheap" kit by any means but fairly comprehensive,
WARNING.... some parts from the kit are no-longer made like enginemounts .... brake something and ya stuffed !!
Castlemaine Rodshop...
http://www.rodshop.com.au/
Realitively affordable kit, but suits the bloke that has some common sence when it comes to manafacturing bits like enginemounts.
Firewall may need "massaging" when fiting to a diesel only.
Dellow Automotive....
http://www.dellowauto.com.au/main.html
Same as Castlemaine rodshop.
Prices vary considerably and some items may need to be made by yourself.
Pending on the rig .... diesel or petrol....
if its a 24volt Diesel you'll also need ....
a 12 volt instrument cluster, 12 volt heater motor, 12volt windscreen wiper motor, 12volt intermitent wiper relay, all globes IE: headlights, interior light, tail lights will aslo have to be changed over to 12volt.
Best to get this stuff from a petrol unit from a wrecker.
None of this stuff is needed if fitting to a 12volt petrol unit
A V8 motor (obviously)
A V8 HQ sump & oil pickup tube.... so it clears the front diff
A rig to stick it into .... DER ! ( preferably Nissan)
A flywheel that suits the V8 ya fitting..... will have to be redrilled to suit the nissan pressure plate if using the secound 2 suppliers kits
Allow extra $$$$$ for things like...
new exhaust system,
new radiator hoses & mods to radiator,
rewiring the loom,
radiator cowl,
thermo fan ( 16" Davis Craig)
new clutch kit
Additional costs may include
LPG setup
Engineers cert
It takes about 2 days to convert a rig to V8 GRUNT but allow an additional day or so for things like pwr steering and aircon..... shit like those two items requires new custom brackerty,.... that means time and therefore $$$

Tried the "twin thermos" earlier on during the first 2 conversions I did. Whilst they did a good job on road they were less than up to it offroad, after I checked with the manafacturer the air quantity that they were capable of moving wasnt quite that of a single large unit. I then went to the single 16" thermo and havent looked back since, the unit is mounted infront of the radiator not behind which for some unknown reason works better, and yes I did run it behind the radiator for several months before moving it to the front.
