hey guys n galls,

i can get a family friend's 2.8 GU that he has blown up for 4k its completly standard with power windows ect. i wanna know if it is worth me pickin it up n putin my busted arse gq's 4.2 turbo deisel in it?

how much work is involved? i'd have 2 complete cars so i should have all the parts needed?

save yourself the headache and by one finished
unless your capable to do it
as said u could buy a fairly good one for around 10k

go for it as long as u can do the work or are willing to give it a go and are prepaid for the expence of getting some one 2 finish it off if u don't.

i just replaced my 2.8 gq for a td42t out of gu.
engine mount on drivers side about 12mm further out and 40mm further back towards firewall (thats if eng. mounts on rd28t and rd28ti are the same)
gear levers in the GU's are set a bit further back, so some modding will need to be done there.
i was lucky enough to use the 2.8 loom on the 4.2 but in your case i think the 2.8 GUs have that electronic injection crap so that might cause a headache.
you should have all the parts needed but ill agree with bogged and say offer them 3k
