Life expectancy of 3l petrol

Post by Ruckus »

Does anybody know how many k's a 3 litre petrol pajero engine is good for? I looked at a 1992 one the other day that had 233000 and seemed OK.

Cheers,
Ben

I have heard reports of the 6G72 (3L V6) still going strong at 350000kms... My last shortys original V6 lasted 170000kms before it needed any work. It was blowing smoke, had multiple oil leaks and needed injectors replaced. I opted for a new low kms engine instead.. My V6 proir to that had 280000kms and was still running excellent..

I know a 3.0 V6 swb with 450,000Ks on it and still going, sure it's very tired and needs a rebuild but not bad for the original motor.
I guess it really depends on how well it's maintained like any other motor.
But I would say 250-350K mark is about the average.
