Navara, blown engine, whats it worth?

Post by lucifer48 »

A mate sent me their 98/99 model Navara 4x4 to me to find out why it was running rough.
I removed and stripped the motor down to find it has grabbed piston 2 and 3 pretty badly.
I dare say it would need sleeving in those 2 cylinders.
It is a QD32 diesel engine.

The options are to fix it,
find a decent fair priced second hand motor
or sell it as is.

If was to be sold what would it be worth?
It is a cab chassis, steel bullbar and steel tray,
air and steer.
has done approx 175ks and a one owner truck, but has lived all its life on the black soil/red gravel type roads up near Lightning Ridge.
It will need new shockies, radiator and the seat has decent hole in it.
The body is pretty straight.

Its with me in Sydney and I wouldnt have a clue what it would be worth to sell as is.
Any advice would be grateful.
Cheers Louie

Probay 5 grand or less mate, fitting a new donk is going to cost a potential new owner a fair bit.

In that condition I think you would be lucky to get $2500.
