ratteling noise from eng. 1.3 litre
i have a ratteling noise coming from my eng only underload goin up hills etc. its kinda like pinging any1 got any ideas. cheers shane
Maybe it's pinging?
Checked your timing?
Checked the engine isn't running hot?
Tried it with better fuel?
Troubleshooting problems over the internet based on a noise is almost impossible. Try and explain what conditions its making the noise and what you've tried to do to eliminate it.

I fond that I needed to retard the timing oh so slightly from the factory settings to get rid of pinging on several suzuki motors (about 1/3 to 2/3rds of a degree less) This may have been due to modifed cams, shaved heads etc .. never the less it needed to be done.
