what to do with my lux
hey guys, i am about to respray my 89 dual cab lux, so i am putting it to the public to tell me what they think, show us picks and get involved.
also what should my next mod be? i have 2 inch ironman suspension lift, 33 bighorns, rear bar/ front bar, making a roll bar, roof console, and cd player, rebuilt engine 10,000 kms ago and new tranny.

Expensive but really really worth it!
As for the Painting, keep it simple and don't forget some decent rust proofing, light colors like white are usually best to not show up the dirt, so you will possibly want a nice dark color!

ARB had a special last year something between $3400 to $3700, the Compressor and inflation kit was supplied for free if you had both front and back installed at the same time.
Heaps of money but that's not the most expensive item you could buy.

the locker itself is $1300 odd new plus approx $300 to get it fitted to a center. then $300 for the compressor to run it.
I had a twin locked 89 lux and the rear locker was the best thing i ever did - initially i had trouble justifing the cost - after having one i would do it in a second!
as for the front locker - i would not probably bother as i found i needed it rarely once the rear was locked, but it was still nice and did get me into / out of shit a few times

But if you can't afford to go down that road yet LSD Both front and rear is another alternative, unfortunately Toyota simply don't have a good LSD.
Depending on your driving experience having open diffs is a good way to learn how to drive and appreciate good articulation - with Lockers it's all a little to easy - still get drive with only one wheel on the ground!
Most of us had to work our way up to lockers so don't be too worried about spending the money just yet - suspension and good rubber are just as if not more important, rock sliders and a good steel bull bar that you can install a winch on are also important.

in regards to respray colour is ur choice but definatally use 2 pac same price but comes up and last way longer then acrylic. when chosing a colour think about dint but also noticabilty bright(non standard) colours attracts attention which also means cops and sometimes thats not the best in a modified 4x4 just something to think about
