i have got a nissan GQ ST 1988
and i found theres no bash plats for under neath,
like i can get a hold of 5mm steel plating from work but im not sure as to where they should be put under neath the nissan
just a basic idea would be good

half and half just i took the 4x4 out on saturday up yarra vally in vic
bit of crap were hitting the under neath so yeah
fuel tank is fine is up fairly high and has a protection plat on it
so yeah thanx anyways

3MM should be ok and lighter too. Sump, gearbox and transfer case could do with some protection if your going to play with the rocks ($$$ if you break them). Oh and faster is not better in the rocks

It depends on your style of driving and what terrain you intend to drive. I have a 6mm mild steel bash plate under my transfer as a temporary item until I either gusset it or upgrade to a beefier item. Anything less will mearly be a "deflector" rather that a true structural item.

Definately worth it, may not have helped me much with how hard I hit but, It actually squashed right up onto the Transfer case when attempting a big step up...
I had to pull it back down with a big bar, but I don't know if it wasn't there, may have done other damage, not too sure...
