Haha, i just logged on to say that i drove over fire creek during the week, And it was a raging river!
i dont think there will be any chance of dust if this keeps up for another week.
The organisers may have to mark new tracks though if all the original winch walls have been washed away and are like cliffhanger style stages haha.

I think those who are racing will need paddles not tyres as the water out that area yesterday was like a river so this should be fun to watch.
I was trying to have my ute ready but i think I will be watching instead

We were down there on saturday looking at tracks . Up in the hills looks fine as it has good run off , once the creek empties out the bottom is not bad. A coulple of the paddocks over the back needs good sunshine for a week to dry out. Unfortunately both davo and i got bogged . The poor 100 ser was down futher than davo but we had fun getting them both out. Again thanks to a nissan we got out. I think they had about 2.5 meters to 3m threw the creek. They locals tell us it empties quick.

Got some good idea's for stages on the weekend. There is as you can guess because of the rain going to be some water in some stages and possible mud as well. Any mud will be shallow ie diff level and water should be no deeper as well depending on the rain.

Make sure you know how to use your GPS. We won't be doing anything hard or doing stuff arounds like changing co ordinate systems or datums but it will be a big advantage to your SS times if you know how to make routes. There will be a couple of stages with GPS in them but you will get all your info on the Friday night at the BBQ. The BBQ is also for officials so please be on time.

All competitors make sure you have your sitcker/s on your car identifying where your 1st aid kit is onboard. These are cheap and can be purchased from safety shops. We need the green sticker with the white cross no more than 1 meter from your kit. Window net removal time will also be tested as we have a lot of water on course.

Cheers Davo

Entry will be $15 per person & camping will be $5 per person.

The stages are going to be great for drivers, but I will remind you all, know your GPS, especially how to create a route from waypoints.
