Tyres for New GV Prestige - No Real Choices ???

Post by sun boy »

Have been looking for some LT off road tyres (currently have 225 60 18's )with no luck at all.

What is available if anything (remaining legal) ?

Can you go to a 17" and will this improve choice much. Does this effect ESP / TC etc.

Any assistance would be apprciated.

nope nothing in 18's in a LT i could find could find but...

Kumho KL78 LT235/80R17

Toyo Open Country H/T LT235/80R17 120/117 S

are the closest & smallest i could find in 17's (both 31-32" tyres).

Maybe 16's?

do you want an all terrain tyre or mud terrain?

I think there are a few 17" ATs, if you want MTs then 16 gives a wider choice.

my diesel GV came with 17" alloys but the dealer gave me a set of 16" steel rims (these come std on the base models and the dealer had several spare sets from people upgrading to alloys).

I put some 245/75 16 (30") maxxis bighorns on them and they just fit inside the wheel well.

yes what steve said, just get some smaller diameter rims. 15" are cheaper than 16" and have heaps of choice in tyres. you can get a second set with muds which u only put on when u go 4x4ing. the rest of the time use the 18" stock set.

ps. that tyre calculator is an awsome tool .thanks for posting that site up.
