im looking at getting a sping lift of 2 inch just would like peoples thought on a few differant brands. I was looking at getting this pack off ebay for 2 grand it is ironman evrything spings, shocks, bushes and a return to center shock rims and 31 inch tyres with rims what are your thoughts?
theres tons on this in the bible...
i ran 2" lovells leaves all round and cofap shocks... theres plenty of kits around but not many that take the extra height into consideration when manufacturing... i think its only OME and Lovells that make the leaf longer to counter the height and restore the shackle angle.

Whilst 31" tyres are a great size on a sierra, a 2" suspension lift alone isn't enough to fit them. You'll also need a 2 Body lift and/or a combination of bumpstop spacing and guard trimming to make them fit.
As you are also narrow track, you will have more clearance problems - steering stops will need to be fitted and the tyres are likely to contact the inner guards in the rear and the shock mounts in the front.

hey sorry to hijack the thread but i also have a '84 sierra and just about to get some OME springs. I have read on here the info im after a while ago but cant seem to stumble over it again now i need it lol.
was thinking of going soft fronts and medium rears (as thats all they have)
and getting OME nitro charger shocks
the things i want to know are...
should i remove a load spring from the packs before i install them?

you really want the rear a bit softer cos theres no weight there, so i'd chuck a leaf from the rear pack and leave the front - but it all depends on how it rides - run them as you bought them for a few weeks to break them in before playing with them though - you'd be suprised how much they soften given some, er, strenuous use =)

in my old zook i ran the old man emu springs and shocks and loved it and got 550mm of flex on the forklift at work. i then bent a fronnt spring on a huge rock and decided to fit tjm front springs as they were 50mm not 40mm lift like the ome and lost 100mm of flex. very stiff i might add. if i had to do again i would not look anywhere else as ome seem to go alright in the zooks.
my old setup. 30 inch muddies, f100 15x7s (offset needed to stop tyres rubbing on springs at lock) 1litre transfer case to correct gearing, ome springs and shocks, massaged seems on gaurds and firewall, front diff redrilled 35mm forward, 12psi in the tyres on or offroad, rear cig locker and no swaybar.
with this simple setup i have outwheel a lot of big dollar trucksaround ormeou, and was only stopped on serious angles due to the carbi flooding. also was never afraid to scratch or ding or roll/ flop this setup drove awsome on road and off .

the rears are probably ok, but the fronts will not keep up with the new found flex in your front end. take them back if you can and get some commo vs wagon shocks.

Normal 2" lifted shocks will limit downtravel in allot of suspension setups....but, any longer and they will bottom out on uptravel. You can fit longer shocks, but you'll need to change your shock mounts or fit longer bumptops.
OME rears are, their fronts are not, they are standard length.
I have seen EFS and Kings rear springs both of which are longer in the rear. In fact I am yet to see an aftermarket manufacturer who makes 2" lifted Sierra rears that are not longer.

Wheeling on completely wicked angles, without even looking stable.
yeah rears seem fine, just fronts that dont drop far enough. almost got them all in now, just the last rear corner to go. will post a before and after pic. should be an improvement over standard anyways. looks like about 80mm lift, will give em a good flogging this weekend to settle them in tho
