do you have a removable hard top? if yes, then build it internally with a decent X brace on the b-pillar. internal would be my preference in any case.

I have an exo on the Zuk as it gives me better protection without sacrificing valuable internal cab room. It also ties in nicely with the cage on the tray. I have had the car resting on the corner of the windscreen part of the cage with no damage whereas if I had actually lent on the cab like that it would cause a bit of damage. This was a major reason in picking the exo as it protects hard to repair panels like the windscreen surround on a hardtop.

Why do you want a full cage. Obviously for protection but what sort of wheeling do you do? This can play a big part in the sort of cage you will need. Is it a daily driver as an exo can draw attention to your car which you may not want from the police.

Can you make it yourself? If so it can take a while and alot of measurement an accuracy to get it to sit right on the car. Whereas putting a roll hoop inside the car behind the seats can be an easier option that is perfect for light wheeling. How much do you want to spend? There are alot of things to consider other than internal or external.

Do you need an engineers certifigate for an exo to be legal?

I go out wheeling probably once, for a couple of days, a month, but other then that it is a daily driver around the city. Because of the short wheel base though, an internal would take alot of room im the back and i am hopefully going to put some seats in the back from a troopie soon

I voted internal.

Or - do what i did and replace the body with a soft top and then put in an internal :cool:

Note: In Victoria - internal roll cages are "self engineerable" but should meet certain guidelines as set by Vicroads - i'm not sure about other states though :?

I voted exo!! But to run in comps (xrcc) you need an "approved" roll cage. Does an exo count?

As long as it meats all the guidelines. There is no reason an external cage would be any weaker than an internal cage as long as it built corectly.

I would prefer to roll my rig with my Exo cage than rolling the same rig with a 4 point CAMS approved Bond internal cage.
