ok just wanted to get an idea of where everyones oil pressure is sitting on the factory gauge at idle.

Mine uesd to sit 3/4 when cold and 1/4 when hot, checkec it wit a guage and found pressurs to be more than fine.(480kpa when cold and 250 kpa when hot). The book says that as long as you have more than 40 kpa when hot you are ok.

I had the same question some time ago and could find nuthin. I ended up goin to toyota and speakin to a mechanic on the w/shop floor. He told me that it was probly a problem with the dash guage and the best way to fix it was to fitt an aftermaket one.

My 1HD-FT gauge use to sit just above 1/3 at cold idle and then once it was hot it would just read above the first line. Gauge was dodgy in my opinion, and a lot of people will tell you the same. I've since fitted an Isspro 0-100psi gauge and it reads correct. 18-20psi hot idle all the way up to 80psi when doing 2000rpm with cold oil.

Same for me with it reading low pressure when hot, just sittin above the first line at idle. Has everyone just fitted an addaptor plate to fit an oil guage or can you tell me where you plumbed it from? Was also thinkin bout an oil cooler for when i'm sloggin through soft sand and slow tracks. Anyone fitted an oil cooler to their 1HDT?

my guage reads pretty low.. idle is just above the first mark and under load it makes its way up to the 2nd mark but mostly its nearer the bottom of the scale.. I figure if the gauge moves there must be pressure.. so as long as it keeps moving im not too stressed.

I think it read within factory specs when measured with a proper guage.

I tee'd mine off where the original sender is. I unscrewed the original sender and went down to Pirtek to get the fittings. For a month or so i had the aftermarket gauge and the factory gauge both working, but now the factory one has stopped working. Sender is buggered i'm guessing. It's pretty tight down there near the starter with both senders jammed in there so i'm going to ditch the factory sender and just run the aftermarket gauge.
