3.0l and 33's

Post by jimmy_ricard »

Ok so ive finaly seen the light after writing off me 100 and am lookin for a gu to replace it. I would ultimatly prefer a 4.2 but we all know the odds of gettin a good one under 30k. What i would like to know is will the 3.0l push 33"s along with standard gearing on the beach or will it strain the motor abit. Feel free to flame being a toyota boy till now.

Cheers guys, Gav.

my RB30 in my GQ has 35's, rockclimbing diff gears and 85 percent reduction in the transfer case with a 7 inch lift........

its ok on the flats but when you get a hill its slow as a wet week......

im looking at a V8 conversion now

You can run 35" tyres easily enough so 33" would not be an issue.
I run 33s every day on my 3.0 and don't have any issues at all. Infact I believe it is better with the 33s because the speedo will read correct and it drops the revs down for easier highway cruising.
I will never go back to 265s again.
