Okay,
To cut a long story short, I run 2 sets of tyres. Factory alloys with 33's and 16x8 alloys with silverstone muds.
Had the silverstones on the other day, and noticed a vibration that is not present with the first set i normally run. I thought it was an unbalanced tyre and basically "put up" with it. However, i noticed that the centre hub diameter of the alloys was about 2mm larger than that of the hub diameter, as opposed to the factory alloys that fit snug. THerefore the studs themselves are supporting the entire weight of the wheel.
I only checked it because a guy at ARB said that its a common problem and people just assume they have unbalanced tyres. He also said you can get a spacer to put between the hub and the rim so they fit snug.
Anyone ever heard or experienced this?
With a new set of tyres just round the corner, i want to make sure me rims are perfect first.
What does the J's stand for on the rims?? ie 16x8J and 16x7JJ
