Clutch issues, 2.8 hilux

Post by 6.2troopy »

Hi, mates got an issue with his lux. 2.8 manual, auto locking. It's stuck in neutral. Can't move it into any gear. Adjusted under the cab, has made no difference. How much throw should there be on the side of the gearbox? Has about an inch.

The spiggot bearing on these engines is really small and has a habit of siezing. If this has happened the gearbox continues to turn even though the clutch has been "released".

Can he get it into gear without the engine running and does it grind when trying to get reverse?
