turboed my mq
turboed my mq
hey guys i got a non turbo mq patrol and i fitted a standard turbo kit including injector pump, whats happening is since i put it together i seem to be gettin a miss on cylinder 1, it was running fine on the weekend without the turbo but since ive swapped everything i seem to be gettin a miss, i find it hard to believe that its a headgasket as it hasnt bee driven yet, ive advanced the pump when i put it on maybe im advanced it too faar? what happens when a diesel is advanced too far do they ping or something simialar to a petty?
what patroler said. I doubt its too advanced, up to 3mm past the marks on the towards the drivers side will be fine for an SD, this make up for worn gears and advance unit on pump drive.
A diesel thats too advanced will blow white smoke and have a real death diesel knock.
A way too advanced diesel will be very very hard to start and will litteraly deafen you with head under bonnet
When you crack the injector line to the sus cylinder at idle, does the fuel make an effort to squirt up past the nut, or does it dribble out and down the injector??

sorry update on this. It turned out to be an injector. Must of just been a coincidence that it failed at the same time the injector was siezed open which is why when i cracked an injector line all i was getting was what looked like airrated diesel coming out which is why i thought it was air. All running fine now
