Chassis number /Chassis varient question

Post by Dabbott »

Hey all,

I am curious!,
Lets just say that (mr X) has a leaf sprung 4x4, and he has a rather big crack in that leaf sprung chassis.

But (Mr X) comes accross another chassis with coil springs instead!
Do you think that (Mr X) could fit this, then use the leaf sprung chassis number to get the vehicle registerd again at Vic roads? Do you think they would know?

Thanks all
On behalf of Mr X

mr x did the same thing in qld but due to rust. the trucks getting plated now and will be comp use only. not easy finding anyone willing to plate it either. for what its worth and mr x found this out the hard/expensive way sell the leaf sprung truck and buy something with coils. you will be so much better off. otherwise get some 9 inch shackles :D

speak to an engineer......
should be a straight forward body swap but wont be the original vehicle would need RWC, rego, etc as a different car
Keep it shiny side up!
Now doing general fab work and painting
trays, trailers, engine swaps on request, some tube work, silo section sliders, rust repairs, ute chops etc
