if i fit injection on to my tb42 carby engine do i have to fit a catalitic converter to be road worthy??

The requirement for catalytic converters is not related to the type of fuel delivery system, so it shouldnt matter if you are carby or injected. It was related to the introduction of unleaded fuel. If you are not legally required to run one now it 'shouldnt' matter if you are changing from Carb to injection.
Best to check though.

I thought you needed the pollution gear to match the mod. But not really sure.
